The Discover Pods Awards is an annual awards program that celebrates the best podcasts of the year. It was created by Discover Pods to highlight and recognize outstanding shows, especially those produced by independent or emerging podcasters, outside of major corporate rankings.
Nominations are free and open to any podcast with an active RSS feed that has released new audio episodes during the awards year. After the nomination period, an internal committee together with critics and fans selects the finalists, and the final winners are determined through a public, open popular vote.
The organizers have chosen to eliminate categories based on gender or race and to increase overall diversity among finalists in order to make the awards more inclusive.
