Independent Podcast Awards

The Independent Podcast Awards are an annual awards ceremony celebrating outstanding achievement in independent (indie) podcasts, recognising excellence in podcast creativity, production, and storytelling among shows that operate without corporate backing or major network support. Launched in 2023 by whynow Media in partnership with the Verbal Diorama podcast, the awards are designed to highlight those podcasts that are truly free of corporate ties and created by independent producers working in their own time and spaces, giving visibility to voices that might otherwise be overlooked in larger award circuits.

Nominations and entries are open primarily to podcasters based in the UK and Ireland who produce content without financial support from large organisations or high-profile brand sponsorships, ensuring a platform dedicated to the independent podcasting community. Winners are selected by an expert panel of judges and celebrated across multiple genre categories, with the ceremony held annually in London to honour the creativity, diversity, and community-driven spirit of indie creators.
