About

The Golden Mike Awards are an annual awards ceremony celebrating outstanding achievement in broadcast journalism, recognising excellence in reporting, writing, production, and on-air performance across radio, television, and digital media platforms in Southern California. Established by the Radio & Television News Association of Southern California, the awards honour a wide range of media professionals including reporters, anchors, producers, and editors whose work contributes to the accuracy, integrity, and impact of local and regional journalism.

The ceremony, traditionally held each January in Hollywood, showcases excellence from Southern California broadcast outlets and highlights the evolving landscape of media and journalism in the region. The awards also serve to encourage emerging talent through scholarships and mentorship initiatives supported by the RTNA and its sponsors.
