The Veteran Podcast Awards are an annual awards ceremony celebrating outstanding achievement in podcasts created by military veterans, active-duty personnel, and those connected to the veteran community, recognising excellence in storytelling, production, and subject matter related to military life and veteran experiences. Launched in 2021 by Shane Cunningham and Nick Nickerson through Broken Jarhead, LLC, the awards aim to provide a platform that highlights voices often underrepresented in mainstream podcast awards, giving visibility to stories of service, sacrifice, and veteran perspectives.
Nominations and entries are open primarily to podcasters who are veterans or active military members, ensuring a focus on content created by those with direct experience of military life. Winners are selected by an expert panel of judges and celebrated across multiple categories, with the ceremony held annually to honour the creativity, resilience, and community-driven spirit of veteran podcasters.
