Editorial Policy & Disclosures

Last updated: March 2026

In the spirit of transparency, here is more than most of you probably want to know about how recognized.fm works. All editorial decisions are made independently by our team. No organization, sponsor, partner, or outside interest has any input, influence, or approval rights over our content, rankings, or selections.

Sponsored vs. Editorial Content Sponsored articles and listings are always clearly labeled. Editorial content is never paid for. We do not accept payment in exchange for editorial coverage.

Awards Coverage The awards we feature fall into three categories: awards tied to current events or newly launched in the space, editorial selections chosen by our team on merit, and sponsored listings from partners who have paid for placement. Every piece of content is labeled so the distinction is always clear.

Tickets, Gifts and Events We may accept tickets, event passes, or gifts from award organizations we cover. Where a specific article or ranking was written following attendance at an event on a complimentary ticket or pass, we will say so.

Submission and Selection Process We aim to be the most thorough resource for awards with audio and podcasting categories anywhere. Awards reach us two ways: submitted directly to us or discovered independently by our team.

Not all awards receive the same depth of coverage. Certain awards, based on reach, relevance, category depth, and timeliness, will be featured behind our paywall. That decision is made by our editorial team alone.

What We Will Not Cover Winning an award is not automatically a story. We will not cover a person or podcast solely on the basis of a win. Recognition matters, but context matters more. No organization or individual can submit their way into editorial coverage simply by pointing to a trophy.

Correction Policy Where warranted, we update the original article and reflect this with an updated last modified date. We do not retain incorrect text on archived articles. For corrections we believe deserve wider attention, we will flag them in our next available newsletter, hyperlinked to the amended page. For corrections, clarifications, or to flag a missing award, contact us at media@recognized.fm.

Ownership and Funding recognized.fm is solely owned and operated by its founder, who also works as a podcast advisor and operates other interests in the podcasting space, detailed in our Conflicts of Interest section below. recognized.fm is funded through a mix of self-funding, advertising and sponsorship, and paid subscriptions. None of these funding sources carry editorial influence.

Conflicts of Interest We believe the cleanest way to handle a conflict of interest is to avoid it entirely rather than simply disclose it.

The founder of recognized.fm also operates Sounds Debatable, a podcasting advisory firm and directory. recognized.fm will not cover Sounds Debatable or any of its clients. If a client of the founder’s advisory work wins or is nominated for an award that would otherwise merit coverage, we will skip that coverage entirely. We think that is a cleaner line than disclosure alone.

The founder holds no financial stakes, advisory roles, or investments in any podcast awards organizations covered on this platform.

Breaking down the business of awards.
