The S+T+ARTS Prize Africa is an international awards programme celebrating outstanding artistic and creative projects at the intersection of Science, Technology, and the Arts (S+T+ARTS) across the African continent. Organised within the framework of the European Commission’s STARTS initiative, the prize recognises innovative works by artists, collectives, researchers, and creative practitioners whose practices address social, technological, and environmental challenges through transdisciplinary approaches.
The award aims to foster collaboration between African creatives and global innovation ecosystems, highlighting projects that demonstrate cultural relevance, technological experimentation, and positive societal impact. Through an open call process, the S+T+ARTS Prize Africa supports emerging and established voices, promotes knowledge exchange between Africa and Europe, and contributes to a broader international dialogue on how artistic practices can shape more inclusive, sustainable, and human-centred technological futures.
